Empowering Badi Youth,
Building a Better Future.

Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal (BSMN)

is dedicated to empowering and mainstreaming marginalised, vulnerable, and disadvantaged communities across the Karnali, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. The organisation is committed to advocating for the protection and promotion of human rights within the Badi, Dalit, and other marginalised groups, striving to eliminate all forms of discrimination and rights violations. Established in 2021 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), BSMN operates under the guidance of an Executive Committee composed of diverse talents from the Badi community.

What We Do

01.

Inclusive,
Quality Education

We believe every child, including those from the Badi community, has the right to quality education. For Badi children, education is a means to break the cycle of historical marginalisation and create brighter futures. It goes beyond being a fundamental human right, it is essential for personal growth, empowerment, and integration into society. Our education initiatives ensure Badi children have equal access to learning in a safe, supportive environment, free from discrimination and gender bias.

02.

Safety &
Security

BSMN is committed to safeguarding the rights and well-being of children across Nepal, particularly those from marginalised communities like the Badi. Our Child Protection programme addresses critical issues such as child labour, trafficking, abuse, and discrimination, striving to create a protective environment where every child can grow up safe, healthy, and empowered.

03.

Youth Development and Empowerment

The Youth Development Forum (YDF) engages marginalised Badi youth in leadership and vocational training, fostering self-reliance and personal growth. Additionally, the Badi Community Forum mobilises district and community-level structures to empower youth through skill development and capacity-building initiatives, enabling them to break free from social and economic exclusion while contributing meaningfully to their communities.

04.

Sexual Health and
Right

BSMN is dedicated to protecting sexual health rights and combating gender-based violence, with a particular focus on marginalised groups such as the Badi community. We work to prevent sexual exploitation and harassment, creating a safe environment where the rights of women and other marginalised individuals are upheld.

05.

Early Childhood Development

Early childhood development is a key part of BSMN’s integrated community development programme. By focusing on health, nutrition, and sanitation, we are committed to the well-being of young children in vulnerable communities, including those in the Badi community. Our holistic approach ensures a strong foundation for their future development.

06.

Skills and Employment

BSMN empowers marginalised communities, including the Badi, by providing essential skills and training. These initiatives enhance the ability to earn an income, secure assets, and meet consumption needs, which are vital for achieving food security and improving material well-being. Through these efforts, individuals and communities are equipped to attain lasting economic stability and social progress.
