
Suk Lal Nepali/Badi
Mr. Suk Lal Nepali is known as a Human Rights Defender. He started his career as a social worker in 1992 as a Non Formal Education (NFE) facilitator/teacher through SAFE Nepal. Mr. Suk Lal Nepali has contributed to changing the social and political situation of the Badi community. His significant contribution was to abolish the sex trade, especially the child sex trade, which was practiced as a profession in the Badi community up till two decades ago. Now, Mr. Nepali has become a social leader and has been established as a professional worker within marginalized communities. Mr. Nepali is the Founder Vice-President of Social Awareness for Education (SAFE) Nepal. At present, he is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal and a freelance consultant in the social development sector.
Mr. Nepali has good organizational management skills, team mobilization, proposal and report writing, and documentation skills. He can manage and lead social campaigns, conduct training, orientation, and workshops, and develop organizational policy/guidelines. He is a professional trainer/facilitator in mass communication, Monitoring and Evaluation, strategic planning, and good governance. Mr. Nepali holds a Master’s degree in Sociology. He has good command of English, Hindi, Tharu and Khas languages.
Mr. Nepali has 30 years of experience working with multi-donors, local NGOs, national NGOs, and various forums/networks at different levels. He has also visited Norway, Denmark, Thailand, Turkey, the Netherlands, Pakistan, and India.
